Classic Chicken Curry

This Classic Chicken Curry is a comforting, everyday Indian preparation where tender chicken is slow-simmered in an onion–tomato base, finished with warm, balanced spices. Made using Qora Chicken Masala, this curry delivers depth, aroma, and richness without excess heat, allowing the natural flavour of the chicken to shine through.

Perfect for family meals or relaxed weekend cooking, this curry pairs beautifully with steamed rice, rotis, or parathas.

Ingredients for Chicken Curry

For the Curry

  • Chicken (bone-in or boneless, medium pieces) – 500 g
  • Oil or butter – 2 tbsp
  • Onion (finely chopped) – 2 medium
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Fresh tomato purée – 1 cup
  • Qora Chicken Masala – 2 tsp
  • Qora Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – as required
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) – for garnish

How to Make Chicken Curry

Heat oil or butter in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add chopped onions and sauté on medium heat until golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1–2 minutes until the raw aroma disappears. Stir in tomato purée and cook until the mixture thickens and oil begins to separate.

Add Qora Chicken Masala, Qora Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, and salt. Mix well and sauté briefly to bloom the spices.

Add chicken pieces and coat them evenly with the masala. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the chicken is lightly sealed.

Add water to adjust consistency, cover, and simmer on low heat until the chicken is tender and the curry is rich and well blended.

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
